TODAY’S TOPIC: BREAKING PARENTAL CURSES (II)

MFM Devotional for 20th April 2022 (Wednesday Devotional) Outline
Parental curses are curses issued by parents against their offspring. Parental curses have grave consequences as we can see in the case of Jacob and some of his children upon whom he laid curses. These are Reuben, Levi and Simeon (Genesis 49). These curses followed them throughout their lifetime. One must be careful not to attract or invite parental curses upon one’s life.
Once a curse is in place, there will be trouble, pain, hardship, delay, stagnancy, and turbulence in every area of life. As a matter of fact, things go haywire when a life, a thing or a place is under a curse as we can see in the case of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3: 23-24). The question is this, what could make a parent to lay curses on his or her child or children? There are many factors that can lead to this.
The first is disobedience. A disobedient child can attract curses from his or her parents.
The second is frustration. A frustrated parent can lose control and lay curses on the children.
The third is demonic possession. A parent who is demon-possessed will lay curses on the children.
The fourth is anger. Some parents vent their anger on their children by cursing them.
The fifth is occult practices. A parent who is involved in the occult could be mandated to lay curses on the children. The list goes on and on. Some parents even curse their children unconsciously.
What type of parent will resort to cursing when he or she is not happy with a child? It is a parent who is ignorant or not born again. A parent that curses a child lacks the fruit of the Spirit and is very carnal. Under no condition should a parent curse his or her child. Although children can sometimes behave in such a way that can provoke their parents to anger, parents must exercise restraint. Instead of cursing, they should pray prayers of blessings.

MORNING
1. Let the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead break any parental curse upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Let the evil presence behind my case disappear now, in the name of Jesus.
3. I reject curses and I claim blessings, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Let heavens begin to defend me, in the name of Jesus.
5. O Lord, pour Your oil into my life and heal my roots, in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lord, deliver me from any curse hindering me, in the name of Jesus.
7. Every curse issued from the coven against me, break, in the name of Jesus.
